I’m not sure what you’re going through right now, but I’m praying for you anyway. I sense the Lord telling me to tell you— “It’s going to be OK. You’ll get through this.”
I’m not sure how or when (although God knows and the Holy Spirit will guide you and reveal things to come to you if you press into Him and seek Him diligently according to John 16:13) but I promise you that one day you’ll be on the other side of this and you’ll be glorifying God for all the beauty He made from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).
I’ve learned from experience that when you’re feeling buried and overtaken by circumstances, the best response is to focus on the promises and power of God’s Word rather than your problems. So you’ve already made a wise choice and it’s already evident that God is directing your steps since you’re here!
Did you know you only need a handful of scriptures to appropriate the power of God? Sometimes it’s actually detrimental to have a long list of bible verses for a particular subject. It’s best to pick a few that really speak to your spirit and just read them over and over and ponder them until they get into your heart and start giving you peace. So today, I’m sharing seven of my favorite scriptures for when I need strength and comfort from the Lord. I hope you find as much peace in them as I do.
1. Isaiah 43:2
When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
2. Romans 8:31b
If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
3. 2 Timothy 4:17
But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.
4. Psalm 61:2
From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety,
5. James 4:8a
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
6. Joshua 1:9
Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
7. Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
