protecting-my-peace-pin2

Caroline apartmentAs a single person, I carry the sole responsibility of protecting the peacefulness of my home. The biggest way I protect my peace is by having both the confidence and understanding that I need to set healthy boundaries in my life and in my home. As a natural people pleaser, I struggle with telling people no. More often than not, I will willingly sacrifice my preferences or feelings to ensure the happiness of others… or to avoid conflict. I love being with my friends and family, and I love opening my home to them. They bring in lots of love and laughter, which we all need! However, as an (outgoing) introvert I need time to recharge my battery in order to maintain inner and outer peace. The biggest disservice I can do to myself, or my peaceful home, is to sacrifice my personal time where I decompress and recharge, in order to satisfy others. Any introvert knows that time alone not only helps me to maintain peace both in and out of my home, but is an absolute necessity! Without it, I’m running on empty and I’m not able to be the light to others, like I should be. In the end, by creating boundaries and learning how to say no with love, I’m helping myself, and also maintaining the peace I need in my home and relationships. So, I vow to do my best to protect my peace as I try everyday to become a better me!
