This past weekend at church I literally cornered one of my trusted mommy mentors. I probably looked frantic, but frankly, I don’t know where else to turn when things go a little wonky in my parenting world. Anybody??
I’m sure that “mommy advice” dates back to the Garden of Eden and all, but we’re getting a little out of hand– don’t you think? What’s a new mom to do when she’s given 6 completely contradictory opinions about how to do every-THING? Rather than feeling prepared and supported, new moms often feel judged and end up trying to figure it all out on their own.
SIDE NOTE: Have you seen that ON POINT Similac commercial about mommy cliques? If you haven’t, stop reading right now and take 3 minutes to entertain yourself: https://youtu.be/Me9yrREXOj4 (Also, PLEASE entertain me and comment below which mommy clique you are from— I’ll go first— GUILTY: hippy baby-wearing mom. #Dontjudge)
So in the spirit of open communication (Translation: don’t even think of bringing this up unless I *explicitly* ask you), I decided to compile a list of the TEN THINGS new moms never want to hear again because: WE JUST CAN’T WIN.

Precious Momma: ignore ALL OF IT. You’re doing so great. As they say— if you care enough to wonder if you’re doing things right, you are. Keep loving your babies and living out your convictions.
And for the rest of us— A Good Neighbor Policy: Let’s keep our unsolicited parenting opinions to ourselves, k?
